More videos from the Tony Awards: Daniel Radcliffe rehearsing, red carpet interviews

June 20, 2008 by Wendy Boswell

Here are a couple more clips from the Tony Awards, where Daniel Radcliffe and Richard Griffiths were presenting awards. First, an actual rehearsal of the whole award giving thing - I had no idea that they had to actually rehearse giving these things away!

And one more brief interview with Daniel on the red carpet:

Daniel Radcliffe talks about getting ready for Equus on Broadway

Daniel Radcliffe is getting ready to appear naked (!) in his September premiere of Equus on Broadway, and so he’s reportedly purchased a Skorcher Butt Machine. Uh huh.

He told a friend: “They don’t have things like this in Britain.”

The security will be tight on Daniel’s debut because the theater doesn’t want butt-naked pictures of Daniel circulating everywhere…..well, they’d be in the minority, I’m thinking!

Daniel Radcliffe interviewed on the Tony Awards red carpet - video

More Daniel Radcliffe goodness! In this first video, Dan talks about Equus, its upcoming Broadway production, and what he has learned both from the play and theatre in general:

In this second video (very short) I *think* he’s talking about his stage experiences; it’s pretty quick:

And last, Dan talks about how filmmaking is definitely NOT glamourous, but participating in a play on Broadway really is:

I love his accent - I think I’ll talk with an English accent the rest of the day. Come on, you know you want to!

I love the interplay between them; it’s hard to imagine Richard as anyone but Uncle Vernon though!

A Harry Potter timeline

This is a great way to visualize the history of Harry Potter; starts all the way back with Ollivanders when they began their wand business!

In an interview with Film Review magazine, Daniel Radcliffe talked about the last Harry Potter installment, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Here’s what he had to say:

On HP coming to an end…”It will be very, very odd to suddenly not be coming back to Harry Potter. And I’ll be sad to leave the character behind and not see on a daily basis the friends that I’ve made.”

On Harry’s “dark place” in this one…Harry is unhappy for a lot of this film, mainly becuase people keep trying to kill him. And his love life is awful, too. That’s what Jo [JK Rowling] does so well, combining everyday, mundane problems with this incredible other world.”

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows will be coming our way in 2010; look for the most current Harry Potter film (Half-Blood Prince) on November 18, 2008.

Daniel Radcliffe was just joking about that “special” girl - sorry, ladies!

Oh, snap! Turns out that Daniel Radcliffe was just kidding around about that special girl who caught his eye in Australia. He didn’t realize that his words would be taken so seriously, apparently.

So all you gorgeous girls who were getting ready to meet your Prince Charming? I’d say that perhaps you should reconsider!!

Who is Daniel Radcliffe’s mystery girl?

Now this is a cute story, straight from Daniel Radcliffe:

“There was one girl there, oh my God, she had these eyes that just looked at me like she wanted to pounce on me,” Radcliffe said of the girl he saw backstage.

“She stared at me the whole night and I was going to get her number and then I couldn’t find her.

“I must have walked around that party for an hour trying to look for this girl like some sad pathetic dweeb - but it would have been so worth it.”

When asked if we could help find her, Radcliffe blushed and regretfully shook his head.

“I don’t know, I don’t know her name, I can’t remember her name. It was one of those things but she was stunning.”

Okay! So who is it? Was it YOU?

There’s a good interview with Daniel Radcliffe in the Wall Street Journal; here’s a short excerpt:

WSJ: What types of film roles are you being offered these days?

Mr. Radcliffe: Right now it’s very tricky because of Potter. I don’t have a spare moment to make something until at least 2010 somewhere. I do the sixth Harry Potter…then I’m going to have a break, then I’m going to New York to do “Equus” on Broadway, which will be great. Then I’m going to do “Harry Potter 7″ and by the time that’s over I’ll be 100 years old. I’m just kidding.

Want to see Daniel Radcliffe in Equus? He’ll be in New York September 5!

April 9, 2008 by Wendy Boswell

Yes, it’s true kids - Daniel Radcliffe will be starring once again in the award-winning play “Equus”, this time on Broadway. “Equus” begins previews Sept. 5 for a limited 22-week run at the Broadhurst Theatre. The play opens Sept. 25-Feb. 8, 2009. You can’t buy tickets yet because it’s so far out, but as soon as they become available I’ll post more information. I’m sorely tempted to make a trip to NYC just to see this play!
