Daniel Radcliffe in CinePremiere
July 6, 2009 by Wendy Boswell
There are some incredibly hot (and I do mean HOT) photos of Daniel Radcliffe in CinePremiere magazine; you can see the scans here. Here’s an excerpt from his interview:
On Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
There’s a lot of friction in this movie, but this happens between Ron and Hermione, more than with Harry. However, I can tell you that my character is very unhappy in this movie, mainly because people keeps trying to kill him, but his love life is scary. That’s what Jo does best: mixing real ordinary life with fantasy.
On Emma Watson being the ping-pong champion
Rupert says that you play Ping-Pong on your breaks but Emma says he beats all of you…
Yes, it’s annoying that she’s so good (laughs). Rupert and I have played together for eight months and we back each other up. But one day Emma was brilliant, we couldn’t beat her, and I’ve gotten better but I’m never facing her again.
Nice long interview with Daniel Radcliffe in the New Zealand Herald
July 3, 2009 by Wendy Boswell
There’s a new interview with Daniel Radcliffe in the New Zealand Herald; he talks about the darkness of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, the division of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, working with Michael Gambon, his kissing scene with Bonnie Wright, the evolution of Harry Potter, and how he knows exactly what he wants to do with his life. PHEW! It’s a long interview, but well worth the read. Here’s the bit about working with Michael Gambon:
“I’ve always loved working with Mike, but I’d never had any big, in-depth scenes with him. It was exciting, knowing we were going to get a good run at those scenes. For the first four months it was just me and him, which was great. Actually when the rest of the cast finally came along, I thought, ‘I don’t like this’. I’d gotten so used to it being just me and Mike, who by the way is one of the best actors I’ve ever worked with, and probably the least professional. Which makes him an absolute joy to be around.
“He takes nothing seriously, is always having a laugh, yet somehow seems to turn it on the moment the cameras start rolling. Because of our lengthy time together it meant we had the chance to build up a great relationship off camera and hopefully that translated on to the screen.”

New Daniel Radcliffe interview in Empire magazine
July 2, 2009 by Wendy Boswell
There is a brand new interview with Daniel Radcliffe in Empire magazine in which he talks about his role in Harry Potter but also his other past and upcoming projects. Oh, and he goes off on a few fun little rabbit trails, too. Here’s a few excerpts:
Funny Dumbledore quip
There’s a moment moment, who knows if it will stay in the film, where we’re discussing the Felix Felicis potion, which gives you perfect luck, and I say to Dumbledore, “Have you ever taken Felix Felicis?” and he says, “Only recreationally”
On his favorite actors
Gary Oldman, he’s great. Other people would be Imelda Staunton and David Yates. They’ve all been very inspirational to me. But I have to single Gary out because of his focus and desire and just the ease with which he acts. He can just do it. I think it bores him slightly how easily it comes to him. I think he and Daniel Day-Lewis are the best actors of their generation.
On the Hair
DR: I will never do that again. I hated that. That Goblet of Fire hairdo kind of came about by accident. We were all told not to cut our hair over the summer and then Mike Newell came in and said, “Oh, that’s fine.” Was Rupert’s hair long then?
EMPIRE: Very long.
DR: Yes, we both had really long hair. But Mike Newell just said, “Oh yes, that’s wonderfull”. So we were stuck with it. Awful.
On bringing back Dobby
We haven’t had Dobby in the movies since, I think, the second. So we’ve now got to re-establish a character and then have it mean something when he does. So we need time to do that. Maybe I should have a line when he pops up: “Dobby! I haven’t seen you since 2003!”
On his co-stars Emma and Rupert
Me and Emma have had our row, which you will with anybody you spend so much time with. The only reason Rupert and I have probably never argued is that he’s the most totally laidback person you’ll ever meet. You could probably set fire to him and he wouldn’t really mind. We’ve been very lucky to get on so well for so many years. It’ll be very sad when it’s all over.
LOL! Oh, man, he’s hilarious. I love reading DanRad interviews, don’t you?

Yummy pics and interview of Daniel Radcliffe in Parade
June 26, 2009 by Wendy Boswell

Parade magazine has a wonderful interview with Daniel Radcliffe that will show up this Sunday. Here’s a few highlights:
Love has an age.
“Girls my own age are not really an option. I find, generally speaking, they have to be entertained more than older girls do. So most of the girls I have had serious things with are generally sort of in their 20s.”
On turning 20 next month.
“I’ve noticed I make noises when I get up and sit down now. I mean, my knees are rotten bad—I refused to wear knee pads too many times when I was doing stunts, and I just clobbered them up a bit. I am an old man in a young man’s body.”
Where Harry leaves off and Daniel begins.
“When I started out at the age of 10 or 11, I was essentially saying the lines as I myself would say them. When I became aware that that’s what I was doing, at 13 or 14, it didn’t make sense to change, because it would suddenly be a dramatic shift in the character.”
Shocking audiences with a nude love scene on Broadway.
“As soon as we started doing the show, people went, ‘Oh! So this is not pornography—this is a play,’ It was mainly hyped beforehand. I didn’t set out to shock people. I set out to do something different from Potter. If I had wanted to shock people I would have played, you know, a gay drug dealer.”
The rest will be in the Sunday paper this weekend in the States; you can read the rest here.
Dan Radcliffe and Rupert Grint have a boys’ night out
June 25, 2009 by Wendy Boswell
From the Daily Star, here’s a fun snippet of information about good friends Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint. They had a boys’ night out this week at a local pub, and played a quiz game. One of the questions was….wait for it…..“Complete the title of this movie – Harry Potter and The Order Of The…”. They were laughing too hard to complete the question! The rest of the pub goers laughed right along with them…it was a fun time!

New interview with Daniel Radcliffe in FilmStar magazine
June 3, 2009 by Wendy Boswell
There is a great (and pretty lengthy) interview in FilmStar magazine with Daniel Radcliffe; here’s a couple of excerpts:
On Equus
FS: Have things changed for you since doing Equus?
DR: Yes, I think they have slightly. Hopefully, that it is the beginning of a quite a long proces of being seen in something other than Harry, which is great. Harry is brilliamnt and I enjoy playing him, but obviously I do want to open myself up to something else other than that character. And yes, Equus did seem to mark a bit of a change- everybody was expecting and hoping that I’d fail, and as I didn’t, it sightly compounded that bizarre choice!
On what he does in his free time
FS: What about going out? What kind of things do you like to do?
DR: I like karaoke. I always try and do “Rock’n'Roll Suicide” by David Bowie. God, I blew them away at the Equus wrap party! They were going to have karaoke all night and I’d been saying, “No, no way. I’d rather eat my young. I am not going ot get on stage and do it tonight.” But then, not even that late, about 11 o’clock, Will Kemp, who was playing one of the show’s horses, came up to me and said, “Come on” And I said , “Fine, all right. You’ve been on at me all night.” And I did it, and I really love it. I sang three songs. They couldn’t get me down.
On being a ladies’ man (or not)
FS: As you get older, are you becoming more aware of being considered a lust object?
DR: The lust thing generally stops when they meet me, when they talk to me, because I’m not a particularly sexy person to talk to. I don’t think I’m a sexy person to look at- some people do, but it’s when you talk to me that I’m NOT cool. I have a cool taste in music, I think; ex-girlfriends have told me that. That’s quite sexy. But they are EX-girlfriends. Also, I like werid things. I lik stupid random facts. I like trivia. I like conversation. I’m crap at that sort of cool small talk. I’m not good at chit-chat. I can’t do pick up lines. I know a guy who would lower his voice when he met girls. It pissed me off. I’d be like, “What sort of dick are you?” But he got loads of girls, so who had the last laugh?
Seriously, it’s a GREAT interview - make sure you head over and read it!
