The Half-Blood prince delay continues to affect other movies

September 10, 2008 by Wendy Boswell

There’s an interesting article in the LA Times on how the delay of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is delaying other movies. For example, animated 3-D comedy “Bolt,” the vampire thriller “Twilight,” the James Bond adventure “Quantum of Solace,” and the epic romance “Australia” have all been shifted around to fill the gapp left by Half-Blood Prince. Here’s a good quote that I think pretty much sums it up:

“Harry Potter is a box-office force that everybody has to work around,” said Rob Friedman, co-chairman and chief executive of Summit. “Once the Warner guys decided to move it into 2009, a big vacuum — and a big opportunity — was created.”

Argh. I’m still ticked that they moved it back so far, aren’t you? I was so looking forward to this movie in November!!!!
