IMAX release of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince announced again

August 15, 2008 by Wendy Boswell

IMAX has officially weighed in on yesterday’s announcement of HBP being moved back:

On the bright side, Richard Gelfond, co-chief executive of Imax, noted that when “Harry Potter” does open next summer, it will appear in close to 100 of its new digital theaters, as opposed to about 40 estimated to be in operation by November. “It’s a better revenue opportunity for us at that point,” he said.

IMAX still plans to release part of the “Harry Potter” film in 3-D. - source

Well, that’s good news, right? RIGHT?!?!? Come on folks, let’s think positive!
