i think this has totally spoiled everything that j.k rowling wanted - she gave the 7 coppies out alone for a reason. yeah sure i wanted to read the book about the same five billion odd times that i have read the others - but cant J.k have what she wants its only fair.

If J.k has had it published herself then thats fine with me but if not then someone really needs to get a life!

Daisy I am sure Amazon would not have done this if they hadn’t gotten permission from JKL in the first place; remember, when they bought that 7th copy for over a million pounds, part of the agreement was that they couldn’t on sell.

But it looks like they may have come to an agreement with JKL, because part of the profits from each book sale will go towards her chosen charity.

Zeb - as i have already said, its fine with me if this is what J.K actually wanted or if she published it herself - but why have they changed their agreement now, they should just stick to the agreements made in the first place.

I also think its great that part of the profits are going to her chosen charity. - but how do we know thats gonna actually happen, we never see anything about money going to charity from book sales anywhere in the press or on the internet. sometimes you never know when to believe people.

    Hi Daisy :)
I think we’ve already seen enough proof to know how well J.K.Rowling protects her work. This charity is also VERY important to her, which is why I am not in the least bit worried that proceeds from these sales will be going towards charity as mentioned already.
She would cause a fuss if it weren’t.

Why do you think they should stick to the agreement? If the other 6 owners of the original Beedle agreed, if the AUTHOR agreed… why do you think they should have stuck to the original agreement?

The fact that this will be raising more money for charity is fantastic imho, and I won’t be too pedantic about an agreement that ALL NECESSARY parties decided to let lapse, for the greater good.

I for one am buying TWO copies of the collector’s edition, and one of the standard :)

Hi Zeb - what is the charities name which the money is going towards? the article doesnt say, people havent been told. If wendy doesnt know the charities name i dont think many people do - can you tell us?

i know that weve seen that J.K protects her work and i have never said in any of the 2 comments i have already posted that i wont be buying the book.

They should have said in the original agreement that they could have published the book why change it now? i think you’ll find that i have already said in line 6 of my original comment that - and i quote ‘If J.k has had it published herself then thats fine with me’

Oh and by the way ‘for the greater good’ im glad you take note of small harry potter quotes that particular one is engraved over the enterance to Nurmenguard the prison which Grindelwald built himself.
