Happy Birthday, JK Rowling!
Our beloved JK Rowling was born on this day, July 31, in 1965, which makes her 43 years old. Happy birthday, JK Rowling!
As a special birthday celebration, I would like all of you lovely readers to share a birthday wish for JK Rowling in the comments. Here are a few ideas:
- How have the Harry Potter books changed or improved your life?
- What’s your favorite Harry Potter moment?
- Anything else you can think of!
If we can get a lot of comments, I’m going to do my best to send this to JK’s press person so she can actually get a look at it. Wouldn’t that be something!

First of all a very happy birthday..hope thei’s many more to come (:
The Harry Potter books have definately changed my life. whether it’s in a small way or a huge way, i don’t really know yet to be honest. i’m going to have to use what i’ve learnt in the real world. I’ve learnt that although all people come from different parts of the world and are differenct colours, heights, and weight we all ghave to go through the same thing in the end. Even though each of our pathways to the end will be different we will all meet at the same point. We all have to experience death in our live’s and i think that the Harry Potter book’s has helpt me through with that and i’m sure that it’s helped many other people also. i believe that their’s a part of good and evil in both of us and we choose which half to go with but even if we choose evil we always know that their will be a good side to us that will show it’s true colour’s someday. whether it be small or big. It’s kind of like Snape and his whole Death eater in love with a muggle and he was torn by both good and evil. I feel that the Harry Potter books have spoken to me and told me many different things, like not everyone is perfect and not everything will go to what you plan in life.
My favourite Harry Potter moment?..hmm to be honest their is many of them but for some strange reason, that i still have figured out myself it would have to be in the final book, near the end when Harry come’s up to Dumbledore’s office, after the war has ended and he ‘..had eyes only for the man who stood in the largest portrait directly behind the Headmaster’s chair. Tears were sliding down from behind the half moon spectacles into the long silver beard, and the pride and the gratitude emanating from him filled Harry with the same balm as phoenix song.’ I always rember this part of the story and it made me cry so much, i think it’s because all the detail and effort Dumbledore and Harry have put into the killing of Voldemort has finally paid off and their journey thogethr is coming to an end. They’ve achieved something great. They’ve helped changed the wizarding and muggle world for good. I belive it’s also got to do with the fact that we don’t hear much about Dumbledore crying. I think you’ve helped me rember this moment the most from the way that you created Dumbledore, the personality you gave him. I could go on forever, but i must stop. Finally Thanks! Thanks for creating a magical world that we can all get lost in when our own live’s aren’t going good. Thanks for creating books not that we can jus read and re read again but because we want to read and re-read again and how I crave for more, but everything has to end sometime. I can now say, hand on my heart, that i will read the Harry Potter collection to my kids and then to theirs and so on. Thank you so muc Jo u really don’t know how much i look up to you and really thank you for letting me find out all about your Harry Potter world. Good luck in the future with what ever you do and keep doing what make’s you happy. you truly are an inspiration to me and i hope that one day i too can change the world with my own words and actions.

There is just so much to say! Well, first off Happy Birthday! Secondly, although I would love to thank you,I have to thank my daughter, who is turning 16,in two months,if she had not begged me to let her uncle take her to this movie I had heard nothing about,Sourcer’s Stone,I would have never gotten into the books!!! Once the first movie came on DVD,I watched it,still not knowing really what it was all about, and when it was over,I said,I need to read the second book,I have to know where this is going! And I was hooked. So now I will say to JK,thank you for giving me something to read to my own child, and niece and nephew, who are huge fans! Sometimes I think I might be a little more of a fan than them!!!! My niece and I have the closest bond over the books and movies, she loves them. A bigger thank you,for bringing back family time in my home, because without the books, there would be no movies, and if I can say one thing about the movies,it would have to be,whenever one of them is on,I find that every tv in my home has Harry Potter on it,even the grandparents, who love it just as much. I read the books over and over, and everytime I do,I find something that I never noticed before,or a line that I just love. I read them to the kids all the time!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY…..
