No, no, no - it’s not what you think! JK Rowling went into Saughton Prison to give inmates awards for learning how to read. Here’s what she had to say:
Rowling said: “Learning to read represents a significant turning point in anyone’s life, and may be the one thing that makes a difference to help people in prison turn their lives around.” - source
Pretty awesome - I’m glad she’s doing stuff like this.
