Updates from Half-Blood Prince: Katie Bell is CUT, Lavendar and Ron kissing scenes
Wow, I’m not happy about these newest changes. Check it out:
It’s been reported that a scene in HBP has been filmed where Ron helped win the Quidditch Cup and Lavender runs up to kiss him while Hermione looks on with jealousy. That’s a new scene written for the Film, because in the book we never see how the Quidditch Cup Final plays out since Harry is detention with Snape because he sliced up Draco Malfoy with that Sectumsepra spell. Also, they apparently put Lavender in GLASSES and she’ll have her long hair CURLED and blonde.
This is the second confirmed kissing scene that Rupert has had to do for HBP. (late last month Emma confirmed that they’d filmed the first kissing scene between Ron and Lavender) How is that poor boy holding up? I hope he’s having fun.The character Katie Bell has been cut from HBP, a last minute decision by Director David Yates and Producer David Heyman. She is being replaced by Cho Chang when she gets cursed by that necklace and nearly killed.

Uh, what? CHO CHANG gets cursed??!?!?! That pretty much changes the whole frigging book! How can they do that!!! What do you think of these changes?

As far as the quidditch game goes, I can understand how the game can be inserted. It wasnt in the book, but it was implied. However, the cut of Katie and insertion of cho chang, I mean, come on!

I hate when they do things like this with Katie/Cho. They did that last time with Cho turning in the DA, not her friend. I would definitely love to see it at least 3hrs, come on. Does anyone know how long HBP is to be? I heard they might split the 7th into 2 movies. That actually might not be a bad idea, except having to wait to see the second part.

Same. But I still love to watch them over and over and over and over and over, until I get sick of that one. Then I go on to the next.

I totally agree, Quidditch thing understandable but they cant go swapping characters about for important moments like being cursed! I would rather sit through 5 hours with an interval (or even without an interval) and have them include all the right parts fo the book than for it to be changed.
I thought for film five they could have made it longer and not cut out as much.

Hmmmm… well i dnt think it will be too bad but i do agree that that they should make the films longer rather than change the story-line :S the film’s not coming out til November

Told you guys this after the last fiasco Order of Phoenix….I warned everyone even contacted other HP groups to start a campaign against Warner Bros. and David Yates….but no…no one wanted to do anything now we are stuck with an idiot director who seems like he never read the books, JK selling all rights to the movies and now she doesn’t even have a say so in the movie production but yet has to be another idiot and saying Dumbledore is gay, and Warner Bros. who doesn’t give a flying flip about true HP fans or the intergrity of the books. Let’s hope that in 50 or 100 years (probably after most of us are dead and gone) they will reproduce the books to their true intergrity and meaning.

i for once am happy that they replaced katie bell first of all who the fuck is going to play katie bell she hasnt been in one single movie but in all books and second when i watch that scene i wanna see a character i know getting cursed than a total stranger that i dont give a shit about hope they put the apparation lessons and sectumsempra

I am so angry. I have been looking forward to this for ages, but I knew this was going to happen because in HBP, cho plays a lesser role and what in the order of the phoenix it was to big, so they can’t live that one down. man, damn.

I cant believe they would cut katie bell from the movie…especially because according to imdb…they hired a new actress to play her specifically for hbp
i understand the ppl might be confused about who she is (since she has not been in any of the movies since chamber….but that is sort of their fault for cutting her from every scene…she was noteably absent from the DA in the last movie as well)

Wiggle totally aggree whit u alfonso cuaron was the best director for this movie poa was my fave and its the highest rated movie out of all the harry potter movies
