Greetings, my lovely Gryffindor Gazette readers! Boy, has this been a great year for Harry Potter news or WHAT!!! Well, it’s almost 2008, and you know what that means…yep, lots of lists. So! Without further ado, here are the top Harry Potter stories of 2007:

Daniel Radcliffe performs in Equus
We were able to see Daniel Radcliffe spread his acting wings in “Equus”, a controversial yet deeply moving play about a disturbed young man and his interactions with horses.

We also got to see the awesome Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix movie this year, which in my opinion is the best one yet (and that’s saying something!).

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
The Harry Potter series came to a bittersweet end in 2007 as JK Rowling finally finished her epic work. We all wanted to read it, but we tried to drag it out as long as possible, because we knew that this was the end.

JK Rowling Reveals that Dumbledore is Gay
We all got a little shock when JK Rowling offhandedly threw out that Dumbledore was indeed a gay man.
The Tales of Beedle the Bard
JK Rowling wrote and illustrated a small volume of fairy tales; it was auctioned for charity and fetched a whopper of a price.

Last, but not least, we watched as Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince began production.

Really, we had a lot of fun this year, didn’t we? There was just SO MUCH going on - I wrote hundreds and hundreds of posts (over 700!!!!!) on all sorts of fun Harry Potter stuff, every bit of it magical.
