Daniel Radcliffe is confirmed for Broadway Equus
I am sorely tempted to buy a ticket to New York City to see this! Daniel Radcliffe has confirmed that he will be reprising his role as a troubled teen in Equus on Broadway:
Daniel Radcliffe has agreed to create some theatre wizardry on Broadway, while his close friend Laura O’Toole will tread the boards in England.
Daniel and Richard Griffiths will open in Equus in New York next September.
For Daniel it’s the fulfilment of a dream he did not think possible.
“I dare not think about going to New York, because it might never happen. If it comes off it will be brilliant,” the young actor told me when we talked during his run in the Peter Shaffer play, which packed the Gielgud earlier this year.
Here’s a neat video from a fan who actually flew to London to see Daniel in Equus:

If EQUUS does get to Broadway, definitely see it, for Daniel Radcliffe’s performance in London was stellar. Although I think Richard Griffiths is a fine actor, I did not think he was right for the part of the psychiatrist. I’m hoping someone else plays that role on Broadway, but if not, the play is still worth seeing. It will keep you on the edge of your seat wondering what is going to happen next.
