Harry Potter is a fantastic Wii game
Here’s a great interview excerpt with the creative director for the Order of the Phoenix video game:
Wii has been a fantastic platform for us. When we first saw the console it felt like Nintendo had designed a console for Harry Potter; we were really excited! One of the big objectives we had for this game was to make the player feel like they really were casting magic, and as soon as we saw the Wii-mote we realised something really special was about to happen for Harry Potter fans! It really suited the game design we’d been putting together.
When we got our hands on the dev-kits, everyone gathered round, excitedly and then we realised it was going to take a lot of time to learn how to connect the way the player used the Wii-mote to how Harry would use a wand. So to do the Wii-mote justice, we had to set lofty ambitions. We set ourselves the challenge of making you forget you had a Wii-mote, and make you believe you had a wand. Hopefully we’ve succeeded in getting close to that with this game for Potter fans and offering something new to experience for all Wii-players.
I can’t wait to buy this game!
