The Harry Potter sweepstakes begins TODAY!

The big contest opens today!

Scholastic launched today the J.K. Rowling and the Open Book Tour Sweepstakes, where 1,000 fans will receive a pair of tickets to an evening with Rowling at Carnegie Hall at 7 p.m., Oct. 19.

Rowling will read from “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows,” the final book in the Harry Potter series. She’ll also answer questions about the books and sign copies of book seven.

Winners under 18 must bring a parent or legal guardian as a guest. No one under 7 will be admitted.

Entry forms are at www.scholastic.com/harrypotter, or you can enter by printing your name, home address and phone number on a sheet of paper and mailing it to: Scholastic, Attn: J.K. Rowling and the Open Book Tour Sweepstakes, 557 Broadway, New York, NY 10012.

Entries must be received by Aug. 31. Only one entry per person allowed. Winners will be selected by a random drawing and notified on or about Sept. 14.
