So why wasn’t Dan Radcliffe shown on American Idol?

You might recall that last week I told you that Dan Radcliffe was going to be on the special charity edition of American Idol - Idol Gives Back. Well, like most of you, I watched and waited - and NO DAN! What was up? Here’s an explanation:

To our surprise, American Idol apparently chose not to air the video which included Dan. After weeks of publicizing that Dan would be appearing along with Hugh Grant, Kiera Knightly, Helena Bonham Carter and others, his appearance via pre-recorded video was not shown. We are told that there was a quick mention of something which had "technical difficulties." We don’t know if that was related to the video Dan was in. We realize that there are alot of disappointed fans out there but we aren’t responsible for American Idol’s actions.

This doesn’t mean that we might not be able to obtain the video as if you recall, the video was not recorded exclusively for American Idol. It is also possible that American Idol or Make Poverty History (ONE Campaign) may upload it to their websites, so also keep checking there.

As soon as we are in contact with Dan’s Publicist to sort it all out, we’ll let you know what happened! Sorry everyone, I am as disappointed as you are, and I KNOW what the video was! You would have been left laughing to the point of tears, but I think I’m not at liberty to share that information just yet.

UPDATED: After speaking on the phone with a Unit Publicist for American Idol, it was confirmed for us that some of the celebrities clips were not shown due to lack of time. There was so much content, but only two hours to fit it all in. Alternatively, he mentioned that there are plans to air some of the missed videos in their season finale episode which will air on 23rd May. Gwen Stefani’s management also confirmed this information according to my local pop radio station this morning.

So I’ll keep an eye out for that video - be sure to keep checking back.
