    It’s not weird, it’s theatre. Good lord, people, have ANY of you read the play? He’s not nude because the director decided to put a sweet spin on it for the erotic benefit of teenagers who can’t discuss anything intelligently. READ THE PLAY. It’s excellent…though I doubt, from what I’ve read of these responses, that many of you would understand it anyway…

    The boy is a professional actor. And he’s a BOY. And this is a professional choice that he has made…if you know anything about the play, you know that it’s not about the nude scene. It’s about WHY the nude scene HAS to happen…and what happens afterward. My parents, and they’re very conservative Catholics, would be proud if I were to be chosen to portray a character like Strang…a fantastic character in a fantastic play. He’s a lucky, talented boy.

    Of course, everyone knows that it is only acting! However, that being said, I think he could’ve chosen another part in his attempt to not be typecast forever as Harry Potter. Certainly one that did not require him to be nude in order for people to take his acting abilities seriously. BTW, ever notice that when an actor/actress wants to be taken seriously or to prove that they have grown up, they take off their clothes? Oh, I get it we have to see for ourselves that they have reached puberty??!!

    to clear it up..
    This is a scene from the theater production Equus. Dan got the role, and this is what it entaailed, getting naked onstage, and having to portray sex while infront of thousands of people without actually doing it. Come on, its theater, and while in theater you may have to kiss another actor, they would’t really be expected to have sex onstage for reals. I mean really. =P Use your heads.

    I have read the play…it’s a kind of psychological play, kind of hard to really grasp the meaning of, but it was fantastic. And to all the people ragging on Daniel Radcliffe for getting naked on stage — is it really that big of a deal? It’s acting, for one, and two, he gets to choose what type of work he does. And I personally applaud him for broadening his horizons — it proves how good of an actor he is.
